Target: Rice producers of Arkansas
Content: The 2021 Rice Field Day is coming to a device near you! The recent rise in COVID-19 cases around the state has prompted the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture to move the 2021 in-person rice field day to an online format. This course is designed for crop consultants that looking for CEUs for watching the 2021 Rice Field Day presentations. It will take you approximately two hours to complete the objectives of this course.

The beneficial insects of row crops course focuses on identification and protection of beneficial insects found in row crops. This section is taught by our Extension entomologist Dr. Gus Lorenz. After viewing the video, you will complete a short quiz on the material and a course evaluation. All sections must be completed to receive a certificate of completion and required to obtain continuing education credits. The duration of this course is about 40 minutes total. 

The rice scouting course focuses on scouting for and managing insect and disease pests of the crop. Each section is taught by one of our Extension specialists. After viewing each video, you will complete a short quiz on the material and a course evaluation. All sections must be completed to receive a certificate of completion and required to obtain continuing education credits. The duration of this course is about 1 hour total. 

The peanut scouting course focuses on scouting for and managing insect and disease pests of the crop. Each section is taught by one of our Extension specialists. After viewing each video, you will complete a short quiz on the material and a course evaluation. All sections must be completed to receive a certificate of completion and required to obtain continuing education credits. The duration of this course is about 1 hour total. 


The pesticide safety for crop scouting course focuses on precautionary measures recommended for crop scouts. This section is taught by our Extension Pesticide Assessment Specialist Ples Spradley. After viewing the video, you will complete a short quiz on the material and a course evaluation. All sections must be completed to receive a certificate of completion and required to obtain continuing education credits. The duration of this course is about 15 minutes total. 


Target: Crop Consultants, county agents, and the general public 
Objective: The objective of this course is to learn the basics of cotton production, scouting for cotton insect pests, and scouting for cotton disease pests.  

Course Duration: This course material is about an hour and a half not including the quiz or the course evaluation.

The corn & grain sorghum scouting course focuses on scouting for and managing insect and disease pests of the crops. Each section is taught by one of our Extension specialists. After viewing each video, you will complete a short quiz on the material and a course evaluation. All sections must be completed to receive a certificate of completion and required to obtain CCA CEU credits. 

Target: The target audience for this course is county agents and crop consultants. 
Objective: The objective of this course is to educate students on soybean production in Arkansas and on the identification and management of soybean insect and disease pests. 
Course Duration: The duration of this course is approximately 2 hours.
